100% Natural, Organic and Sustainable

Organic Raw Cacao Powder

Our organic Peruvian cacao is part of the 'Alianza Cacao' who are running an initiative focused on raising the income of more than 24,000 families dedicated to the crops in the Huánuco, Pasco and Ucayali regions.

Raw cacao powder is made by cold-pressing (low temperature) un-roasted cocoa beans to preserve the cacao butter and all its natural goodness.

The beans are extracted from the inside of the Cacao fruit which contains both the beans and a white pulp. The beans are separated from the pulp and left to ferment for 6-7 days. After fermentation, the beans are then dried in the sun for 3-4 days.

Processed Cocoa has been roasted at high temperatures to remove the cocoa butter and mass.  This changes the molecular structure of the cocoa bean, lowering the overall nutritional value and destroying the health benefits.

Organic Unrefined Coconut Sugar

Coconut sugar (also known as: coconut blossom sugar) is a sugar produced from the sap of the flower of the coconut tree and is sweet almost like brown sugar but with a hint of caramel. 

A major health advantage over refined white table sugar is that it is un-refined and has a low glycemic index.

That means coconut sugar retains its vitamins and minerals, which include vitamins C, B1 B2, B3, and B6, as well as calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, and zinc. Coconut sugar also contains much less fructose (3% to 9%) than white sugar (50%).

Coconut sugar has a glycemic index of 35, its classified as a low glycemic index food and does not have a dramatic impact on blood sugar levels.

Organic Rice Malt Syrup

Rice malt syrup is made from 100% organic brown rice. It is made through culturing rice with enzymes to breakdown the starches and then cooking until it becomes syrup. The final product contains soluble complex carbohydrates, maltose and a small amount of glucose.

Rice malt syrup is 100% fructose free. Other than an efficient source of energy, rice malt syrup is the perfect sweetener for those following a low FODMAP diet (often for fructose intolerance), and unlike honey, is suitable for vegans. It is gluten free and contains no artificial colours and flavours.

Certified NON-GMO Xyltiol

Xylitol looks and tastes just like white sugar, however is much healthier. It's made from a product originally derived from birch bark or corn.

It modifies the saliva in your mouth so that eating meals, desserts and candies flavoured with Xylitol not only do not cause cavities but prevents cavities by promoting the remineralisation of tooth enamel.

Every teaspoon of Xylitol also contains 40% fewer calories than sugar! It is also so slowly absorbed that it has almost no effect on blood sugar levels for people who have diabetes.
